This is an assignment that is designed for you to get to know your PC. Anyone can take this assignment at one’s convenience. This is Free. I think it’s a good idea for everyone to know their PC. These tasks are not necessarily easy, but, they are designed to help you learn your computer system. These tasks are not in any specific order. You may use your manual to help you with this. You do not have to submit your answers to this assignment. Remember, this blog is for New PC Users or beginners. Below are the details to what you can do:
Your Assignment:
1. If your computer is a Windows XP type computer, and if you wanted hide the system tray at the bottom of the screen, or switch the Start Menu from the classic style to the Start Menu from earlier versions of Windows, what would you do? (This may be able to be done on different versions of Windows).
Hint: You need to do this through the control panel.
2. How would you change a screen saver or your desktop image (wallpaper)?
3. Knowing your storage devices:
a. How big is your main hard drive – Drive C:?
b. How many hard drives do you have?
c. What drive letter is your CD drive (if installed)?
d. What drive letter is your DVD drive (if installed)?
e. How many ports do you have?
4. How much Random Access Memory (RAM) do you have?
5. How would you access the different options and device settings for your printers and faxes? Describe what you would do.
The above tasks were designed to help you to start to learn about your computer system. Hope these have helped you in this process.
