I wasn’t planning on a 4th part to this series, but, some thoughts came to me as what I could add to this series. In adding to the other three posts, what not to spare in this case is common sense. Just because you are new to using PCs, doesn’t mean that there are areas of concern that you could not do well with. Some who are new to using PCs have little or absolutely no knowledge of using a personal computer. And then there are those who are new to using them, and are able to articulate and do well with them. In either case, you need to exercise common sense when using and taking care of your PC. Let’s uses this example: You just bought a new stereo and you are excited about it. Would you take care of it or use it carelessly? This also applies to your PC.
In the other posts of this series, patients, attitude and maintenance were discussed. Common sense could be applied to all three of these areas. Now, if you are thinking “duh!” well, that is ok, but, others who are eager to learn as much as they can may find this useful. I’ve seen a lot in the last twenty years and some of it would blow your mind. You would not believe how some people use their computers.
Here is an equation to consider: Patients + Attitude + Maintenance + Common Sense = a well cared for PC
You can get all the extended warranties you want, and they won’t mean a thing if you don’t take care of your PC and be careful with it. Your first line of defense in taking care of your PC is YOU! Personal Computers can be used in a lot of different ways, but, you still need to take care of it.
